Increased time spent outside or engaged with natural spaces increases activity levels and improves mental and physical health. For people living in Renfrew County, we are abundant in nearby nature. Our natural environment is accessible and has the potential to improve the health, well being and quality of life for people of all ages and abilities. Here are just a few ways to increase your time spent outside.
- Create natural spaces in your garden or on your porch, or at a community park or schoolyard.
- Plant a garden, tree or native plants.
- Explore a new trail or interpret an existing trail or outdoor space.
- Take a group of kids for a walk.
